BTG Begbies Traynor plc, the specialist professional services consultancy, today announces the acquisition of Tomlinsons, a Manchester based firm of business recovery and insolvency practitioners.
Tomlinsons, a long established and well regarded firm, is run by Alan Tomlinson and Catherine Matthews, who will both be joining the firm as partners. It has 13 staff based in Manchester and Blackburn. The firm specialises in all types of business recovery and insolvency procedures, as well as offering advice to companies and individuals who believe they may be heading towards, or are already in, financial difficulty.
It is anticipated that the business will be merged into the firm’s existing insolvency operation and will help consolidate further its strong presence in the North West of England.
Paul Stanley, Head of Manchester office said:
“Tomlinsons is a well established business with a loyal client base and strong local contacts.
“In making this acquisition we are further strengthening our presence and market share in the North West as well as welcoming a number of first rate people to our business.”
He added:
“As far as clients are concerned it will be a seamless transition. Tomlinsons has an excellent reputation for high quality, personal service and this will continue as part of BTG Begbies Traynor.”
Ric Traynor, Executive Chairman of BTG Begbies Traynor said:
“This acquisition of Tomlinson’s represents an opportunity to acquire a successful and well regarded business that fits well with our existing operations. It reflects both our confidence in our long term trading outlook and the fact that our recent refinancing is enabling us to consider both organic investment and acquisition opportunities, principally in the insolvency and restructuring sector.”
Alan Tomlinson said:
“We are excited to be joining BTG Begbies Traynor.
“Our clients and our staff are sure to benefit from being part of such a market leading business.
